Memories from The End Of The Line

Transforming a Picture into a Story

My original intention was to travel over London, fill my days and explore London from a different angle. I had a vague notion how this collection could come together as in my childhood days, I’d enjoy a trip to the library picking up photo books. Photo books that would capture my interest, helping me to enjoy and explore the skill, thought and creativity that goes into producing colour and black and white photographs. They became my inspiration to pick up a camera in my early teens but sadly 50 years later, through a combination of love, life and experiences, my passion waned.

But fast forward that half a century, which incidentally seems to have gone in a blink, I approached retirement and I reflected on my core values and pondered on what was to come. One of my values is to constantly learn, and I had always told myself, and those I worked with, that whenever I stopped wanting to learn it was time to hang up my boots…and so I did. But I have no regrets as it was an easy decision to make.

Why am I telling you this? Because no sooner than I’d retired, I rekindled my passion for photography and realised there was a completely different learning experience ahead of me. This is when theendoftheline was born.
