Welcome Back: What’s New for Photos by RJT in 2026

AI generated Image

It’s been over a year since I last posted, as I had decided to take things easier during 2025. I have to admit, it was a much-needed break as I rebalanced the hobby that had almost become a job, and the rigours of retirement.

Those who follow my reduced number of social channels will know that I have still been posting every day. But in recent months, I’ve been contemplating what’s next for what was once ‘the end of the line’ and what it means to be ‘photos by RJT’.

I’m pleased with the new name as it truly says what I do, but I think I still need to tinker with my website. Any thoughts, suggestions or ideas will be seriously considered.

So, what’s there to look forward to in 2026? Here are my plans:

Coddiwompling along the Thames

I’ll continue to post across my social channels, but I suspect these stories and images don’t reach everyone. So at the end of each set of photos, I’ll craft a simple blog post bringing them together so you can see the journey in one place, with a bit of information about the bridge/pier/tunnel’s history. I’d welcome your comments as I begin to share these.

Don’t forget, you can see a sample of my ‘memories’ on the Coddiwompling page.

Barnes Railway & Footbridge

Social channels

I’ve decided to reinstate my Instagram and Facebook social channels as I realise not everyone subscribes to Bluesky or LinkedIn. Bear with me; it will take me a little while to create enough content to make it attractive. I’ll also reconnect with as many of you as I can. If you see me there, please come and say ‘hello’.

Picfair

I’ve updated my online store at Picfair, so if you’re interested in getting your own copy of my photos, then this is the place for you.

On a personal note

I’m running the equivalent distance of a marathon in January as part of Prostate Cancer UK’s January marathon challenge. I have chosen Prostate Cancer UK as one of my charities to support, as in recent years I’ve had an unhelpful NHS experience in determining my prostate condition. I believe the testing regime should be much easier and quicker, and fully support the charity’s endeavours to achieve this.

If you’d like to help or show your support, please head over to my JustGiving page. Thank you.
